WP1 - Document No.2

Overview on Energy Consumption and Saving Potentials in the BSR Building Stock

Work package 1 "Meeting EU and National Goals on Energy Efficiency (EE) in the Building Stock" shall provide the frame of reference for the whole project, as it deals with national policies in relation to EU goals. First task in this work package 1 is to analyse the potentials for energy saving and CO2 reductions in the building stock. By doing so, the following questions should be answered:

  1. What is the environmental impact of energy efficient refurbishment of residential buildings in the Baltic Sea Region?
  2. Is the focus of the BEEN project on the multi-storey building stock erected between 1950 and 1990 justified?

BEEN Document No. 2 tries to answer these questions by analysing the potentials for energy saving and CO2 reductions in the mentioned building stock. To collect data and information, a questionnaire was developed and the involved BEEN partners evaluated existing materials and reports on EE in their national building stock.
